Jolly Dozen hosts annual essay contest; Haxtun fourth grader Jayce Boerner takes top honors with respect themed piece

Haxtun fourth grader Jayce Boerner took the top honor of the annual Family and Community Education essay and artwork contest sponsored by the Jolly Dozen organization in Holyoke. The local organization hosts the contest each year with students in Haxtun and Holyoke fourth grade classes.

This year, Haxtun's Jayce Boerner, son of Bryce and Lindsey Boerner, took first place. Two students from Holyoke, Lia Sprague and Maggie Kleve, took second and third place honors. The theme for the 2020 contest topic was respect.
