Haxtun-Fleming Herald 's new website goes live

THE HAXTUN-Fleming Herald's website has a new look along with offering several new features to subscribers. Trial subscriptions are available at www.hfherald.com.

Online presence of The Haxtun-Fleming Herald has a new look! The Herald launched an all new website last week, allowing readers to subscribe and have access to both print and online editions. The domain name remains the same, http://www.hfherald.com, but much has changed with the new launch.

Co-Publishers Spring Atchison and Candie Fix felt it was time to give the website an upgrade to allow for a better online presence, not only on the website itself but on social media as well. While the same feature of the publication's PDFs is available to subscribers, readers can now view and share stories and color photos on all social media platforms.

"I am very excited to bring our readers this new website," Atchison said after the website's launch. "It's a very reader-friendly format that offers the feature of sharing on social media. My hopes are that this feature will allow people who don't live in the area, but have ties to Haxtun to stay better connected to their hometown."

In addition to expanding readership, customers can now place, and pay for, classified ads online as well as subscriptions. Additionally, business directory listings and website sponsorships are featured on the e-edition, giving advertisers the ability to link websites for one-click access their respective websites.

Atchison and Fix are also able to share more color photos on the new website than ever before. A photos tab will feature many more photographs than what is featured on the pages of the Herald in the very near future. Some aspects of the website continue to be a work-in-progress but hopes are readers will find the accessibility and new look more convenient and reader-friendly.

"I love that I will be able to use more of the photos I take, especially from sporting events," Atchison added. "The space we have in our hard copy doesn't always allow us to use the many pictures that we take of our local athletes each week and the new website offers us the opportunity to share more of those with our readers."

All current and future print subscribers will automatically have online access to the e-edition. If you currently are a print subscriber and wish to access your online account, visit http://www.hfherald.com and click on the Sign In link at the top right. A blue box that says Attention Print Subscribers will appear on the next page and once clicked, will give instructions on how to register for the e-edition portion of the subscription.

Print subscriptions remain the same, $40 for one year within a 50-mile radius of Haxtun, and $50 outside those limits. Online only access to the e-edition is $35. Readers also have the option to renew for one and two-year subscriptions.

For more information about the new website and/or accessing your account, call Atchison or Fix at (970) 774-6118.
