HAXTUN POLICE Chief Tanya Mayhew fits Kindergartner Allison Plumb with a new bike helmet on Monday morning at the elementary school. Due to the lack of in-school learning for most of the spring semester, the Haxtun Police Department was unable to host the traditional bike safety day in which kindergartners and all new students receive a bike helmet. So, instead, officers with the Haxtun Police Department took the opportunity to do so when students returned school work and picked up personal belongings earlier this week.
