Haxtun baseball returns to diamond; sweeps Holyoke in season opener


For the first time in two years, the Haxtun Bulldogs stepped foot on the baseball field as the team kicked off the 2021 season. The team traveled to Holyoke for an afternoon double-header with the neighboring Dragons in their first contest since May 16, 2019; last year’s season was cancelled completely due to COVID-19.

In their first outing, Haxtun derailed the Dragons 20-1 and 11-0 to kick of the season with a 2-0 record.

The Bulldogs took a commanding 13-0 lead after the first inning in Holyoke last Tuesday afternoon. Haxtun added one run in the second, as did Holyoke, to hold onto a 14-1 ad...
