The Haxtun Bulldogs competed in the final two meets of the season before State later this week. The Bulldogs participated in the LAPP/YWKC meet in Yuma on June 15. The girls team finished the league meet with 31 points and a seventh place finish while the boys team earned a total of 62 points and a sixth place finish. Top 10 results from that meet are as follows:

400-meter-dash: Aliyah Engle, fourth, 1:10.75.

300-meter hurdles: Taylor Schram, sixth, 1:04.04.

Four-by-100 meter relay team: third, 54.80.

Long jump: Megan Walker, seventh, 11 feet, 2.5 inches.

Triple jump: Allie Thompson, first, 32 feet, 3.5 inches; Walker, seventh, 24 feet, 10.25 inches.

Discus: Cassidy Goddard, sixth, 96 feet, four inches.

Shot put: Goddard, ninth, 28 feet, one inch.

Boys

100-meter dash: Kyle Fryrear, fifth, 12.23; Owen Knode, sixth, 12.33.

800-meter run: David Avery, fifth, 2:28.95.

The Haxtun track team also competed in the St. Vrain Invitational last week. That meet took place at the Everly-Mongomery Field in Longmont on June 18. While there were no top 10 finishes for the team, several Bulldog athletes placed in the event.
