JUNIOR NOLAN Japp, Fleming Wildcat ball carrier #27, moves his feet to maneuver around Arickaree/Woodlin defenders in a home game earlier this year. Senior Hayden Burr blocks Indian Mustang defenders.

With five games remaining on their regular season schedule, the Fleming Wildcats added league win number three with a trampling at North Park on Saturday, Sept. 25. They've maintained a perfect league record with wins over Peetz, Pawnee and most recently North Park. League contests with Weldon Valley, Briggsdale and Prairie account for their upcoming agenda.

The opening quarter of Saturday's action at the home of the North Park Wildcats saw an even score with both teams putting eight on the scoreboard. North Park's touchdown, which would turn out to be their only points of the game, marked the first points scored on the Wildcat defense this season in a 6-man outing.

Fleming's offense kicked into high gear for the second quarter adding 32 points and the score read 40-8 at halftime.

The local Wildcat defense held the home team scoreless throughout the second half while adding 16 in both the third and fourth quarters to take the 72-8 victory.

Junior Nolan Japp tallied over half of Fleming's 327 rushing yards with 188. He carried the ball 10 times and scored four touchdowns on the ground.

Junior Blake Feather followed with 98 rushing yards on seven carries. He tacked on 12 points off two trips to the end zone.

Junior quarterback Braylen Feather threw for 79 yards off three completions. He threw a long pass of 29 yards.

That 29-yarder found senior Joel Muller who caught two passes off the arm of Braylen Feather. Muller earned 51 receiving yards for the day.

The remaining completed pass, which connected with senior Hayden Burr, resulted in another 28 Wildcat yards.

Burr led Fleming's defensive efforts with 15 tackles. He brought down 10 solo and five assisted.

Japp also hit double digits in tackles with 12. He earned eight solo and four assisted.

Japp led the team on the scoreboard. His four rushing touchdowns coupled with a kickoff return for a TD added 30 points to Fleming's tally.

Kicker Kenny Bandy, a junior on the Wildcat squad, made good on nine of nine points after attempts. He added 18 points in the contest.

Blake Feather added double digits to the scoreboard with 12 points off his two rushing TDs.

Senior Maddix Welch and freshman Grant Kuntz rounded out Fleming's 72-point tally with six points apiece. Both players earned their six on the ground.

Next up on Fleming's itinerary is the Weldon Valley Warriors. The Warriors stand at 1-4 overall and 0-3 in league action. A Friday, Oct. 1 contest is set for 3 p.m. at the home of the Warriors in Weldona.
