Lady Wildcats suffer 1st loss at Briggsdale

LADY WILDCAT senior Sam Pope positions herself for a shot between two Idalia Lady Wolves two weeks ago in Fleming. The Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season this week on the road against the top-ranked Briggsdale Lady Falcons.

The Fleming Lady Wildcats dropped their first contest of the 14-game season last week at the home of the top-ranked Briggsdale Lady Falcons. The Lady Wildcats also dropped a spot in the Colorado High School Activities Association rankings putting them in the number three spot behind Briggdale and Flatirons Academy - a team they'll meet in the coming weeks.

The Lady Wildcats opened with smooth victory, 48-26, over the Akron Lady Rams to open the week on Thursday.

Saturday's contest at Briggsdale ended with Fleming down by 22 points, 58-36, against the Lady Falcon team who averages nearly 35 more points per game than their opponent this season.

Individual stats for the week were not available as of press time.

Fleming is set to host Weldon Valley on Friday, Feb. 4 with games starting at 4 p.m. They're scheduled to take their home court the following night as well against Genoa-Hugo/Karval with action beginning at 2 p.m.
