Haxtun wins over Simla; set to enter State at #6

It was a battle to the finish, but one that paid off big in the end. The Haxtun Bulldogs took a 10-point win over Simla at the Region 2 Tournament in Brush Saturday afternoon to punch their ticket to the 1A State Basketball Tournament later this week.
Simla earned their way to the championship match against the Bulldogs after knocking off Stratton 51-43 the day before. Haxtun took the court in their white jerseys as the home team ranked number three in Regional standings. The visiting Cubs, in blue, entered the Regional Tournament as the number four seed.
