Twelve Fleming basketball players earn post-season accolades

Twelve Fleming Wildcat student-athletes earned All-Conference recognition following the completion of this year's basketball season. Seven members of the Lady Wildcat basketball team, who earned a third place finish in the State Tournament, and five members of the 7-12 Wildcat squad were selected for the honors by coaches from their league.

Senior Whitney Chintala earned All-Conference designation. She led her team in several categories this season. Chintala put up team-high numbers in points with 342; assists with 80; and steals with 79. She also made a leading contribution in rebounds - pulling down 135 for the season. Chintala finishes her high school career with 1,301 total points and career averages of 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game.

Senior Zoey Vandenbark received All-Conference accolades after returning to the team for her senior season. Vandenbark sat out her junior year following surgery. She followed Chintala in steals with 51 over the course of the 25-game season. She also added solid numbers across the board in points with 115; rebounds with 66 and assists with 33. Vandenbark closes her basketball career with 214 rebounds and 153 steals.


Junior Kally Kirkwood was chosen for All-Conference recognition. She led her team under the net in rebounds for the season with 168. She followed Chintala's top numbers in points and assists with 243 and 67 respectively. She also grabbed 49 steals this year.

Sophomore Madi Serrato was also selected from the Lady Wildcat lineup for All-Conference honors. Serrato was a top contributor in points and assists with a tally of 204 points on the season and 46 assists. She also brought down 110 rebounds and took 48 steals.


Senior Sam Pope and juniors Lexi Schaefer and Maddy Harms were named All-Conference, Honorable Mention. Pope pulled down 51 rebounds, grabbed 28 steals and added 47 points to the scoreboard. Schaefer tacked on 99 points while grabbing 43 steals and 43 boards. Harms followed Kirkwood in rebounds with 142 on the season. She also put up 90 points for the year.

A junior member of the Wildcat squad, Braylen Feather, earned All-Conference status. Braylen Feather led his team in points with 239, assists with 57, and steals with 31. He also made a top contribution in rebounds, bringing down a total of 118.

Junior Kolten Houser was named All-Conference after leading his team in rebounds this season. Houser brought down 147 for the year - an average of nearly eight per game. He followed Braylen Feather in points and assists with 230 and 50 respectively. Houser also added 22 steals for the year.


Junior Blake Feather received All-Conference recognition for his efforts this year. He added top numbers across all categories finishing with 118 points, 27 steals, 44 assists and 81 rebounds.

Senior Joel Muller and junior Harry Harms were selected for All-Conference, Honorable Mention. Muller tacked on 96 points this year in addition to grabbing 21 steals and passing 33 assists. Harms followed Houser in rebounds this season with 138. He also added 102 points to the scoreboard for the Wildcats this season.

The Lady Wildcats graduate three seniors in May. Chintala, Vandenbark and Pope, all of whom received All-Conference honors, have completed their high school careers.


The Wildcat squad loses All-Conference honoree Joel Muller and Nate Betley to graduation this year.
