April 27, 1938

A variety of weather, including rain, wind and dust storms, was experienced in the Haxtun region this week, with two to seven inches of moisture falling. During the wind storm here, Tuesday evening, a tornado struck a schoolhouse near Oshkosh, Neb., killing three children and injuring two others.

Billy, Leroy Hielscher, infant son of Mr. and Mrs., William Hielscher, passed away at the home of his parents four miles southwest of Haxtun last Sunday. He was four months and one day old.

James B. Ghent, 53, former businessman of Haxtun, passed away Monday, April 25, 1983...
