The Colorado Secretary of State's office was not able to declare the Nov. 5 general election to be official until Friday, Dec. 6. The extraordinary length of the ballot and due diligence given the vote counts by county clerk's offices took more time than usual. And, numerous recounts of close elections required more time to complete some of the counties' certification process.
