Wildcats open against Haxtun and Sedg. Co.

The Fleming Wildcats have returned to the basketball court following the completion of the fall sports season. Fleming went on the road to compete at Haxtun on Friday, Dec. 6 and hosted the home opener against Sedgwick County on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The girls' team opened at 2-0 with wins on both occasions. They defeated Haxtun on their home court, 51-44, before taking a nail-biting win over the Lady Cougars, 39-36, that came down to buzzer-beating three-point shot by junior Brooke Schaefer.

Individual stats for the contests were not reported as of press time on Wednesday morning.
