Merl Stryker

Merl Stryker passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at his home in Nunn at the age of 70.

He was born July 27, 1949 in Denver to Ernie Roy and Leona Mable (Shrider) Stryker. He married Pamela J. Ingram on Feb. 11, 1994 in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He grew up on the family farm northwest of Haxtun and attended Haxtun Schools, graduating with the Haxtun High School Class of 1967.

Merl loved farming and operating heavy equipment. His favorite piece of heavy equipment was the scraper. He worked for Lawson Construction, Denver, for several years. He loved to tinker and make numerous items throughout his life. He designed and built a train from a lawn mower and plastic drums. He would give rides to children at the Nunn Days celebration for a number of years.

He served as preacher at the Church of the Brethren in Haxtun.

Merl is survived by his wife Pam; two daughters; two sisters; a brother; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother; father and daughter Hope Ann.

A memorial BBQ gathering will be announced at a later date.
