HHD urges community residents to do their part to protect others

Cases increase in Phillips County over weekend

Phillips County is up to eight positive cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, April 11. As local businesses begin to open back up, Haxtun Hospital District urges residents to continue doing their part in protecting themselves and others.

Wearing a mask, so you don't spread germs when you talk, sneeze or cough, while you are shopping locally in our community is important.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cloth face coverings should not be used on children under two. HHD also urges residents to wash their hands frequently and keep a safe distance from others.

Over the course of the last eight weeks, HHD has implemented several new protocols to handle an influx of potential COVID-19 cases. HHD continues to ask that patients who feel they are ill with COVID-19 symptoms, call the clinic prior coming into the facility.

"The community has done an excellent job of adhering to this request and we have been successful in keeping these potential patients isolated from other patients in our facilities," said Tabitha Schanhals, Clinic Manager. "Although visitor restrictions are still in place, HHD is completely open for business and community members can feel safe coming to HHD for healthcare."
