Hortons purchase equipment rental business

DANYELL AND RYAN Horton recently purchased 5 Star Rentals and Equipment, bringing another business to the Haxtun area. The new business venture features equipment rental, large and small, with delivery services.
Red J Welding, Double H Supply and now 5 Star Rentals and Equipment; Ryan and Danyell Horton sealed the deal on their third business venture last week, bringing 5 Star Rentals and Equipment to Haxtun. The couple operate their businesses just four and a half miles south of Haxtun on Highway 59.
The Hortons officially purchased 5 Star Rentals and Equipment from Mike and Deb Woodhead, of Holyoke, on Oct. 1. The Woodheads plan to continue to operate their other business venture, Woody's Pivot Service in Holyoke, as they have.
5 Star Rentals and Equipment offers equipment rental, big and small, as well as delivery services in the Haxtun and Phillips County area and beyond. The Hortons said their equipment list is lengthy and includes anything from construction equipment like jackhammers, concrete saws, skid steers, mini excavators and scissor lifts to small lawn care items like aerators and power rakes.
"We are excited to bring a new business to Haxtun," Ryan said from the couple's red and white business building along the west side of Highway 59.
Ryan and Danyell purchased land and built a shop and office space in 2017. That space is home to Red J Welding, Double H Supply and now 5 Star Rentals and Equipment, all of which currently employ six people with room for more.
Ryan said he is looking to hire more welding employees for Red J Welding, which specializes in farm repair, livestock facilities, panels and gates, portable welding and shop welding.
The store front at 20281 Highway 59, Double H Supply, offers Buckeye Welding supplies, bolt bins, welding consumables, truck and trailer parts, Banjo fertilizer fittings ... a one-stop shop for all welding, farm and ranch supply.
The Hortons also offer oxygen acetylene bottle swaps at their location south of town.
5 Star Rentals and Equipment, as well as Double H Supply, are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on the weekends by appointment. For more information on the Hortons' new business 5 Star Rentals and Equipment call (970) 854-2145.
