Fulfilling the practical promise made by the original Burlington Zephr in 1934 with its record run of 1,015 miles in 785 minutes between Denver and Chicago, president Ralph Budd of the Burlington Railroad has announced plans for Zephr service between these two points to start next June. The Denver Zephrs will be 10-car trains complete in every detail with deluxe reclining chair cars, sleeping cars, parlor cars, lounges, diners and observation cars. While the average running speed between the two terminals will be approximately 65 miles per hour, stops at some six or seven of the more important cities enroute will call for a cruising speed of 90 miles an hour or better. The Denver Zephrs will each be capable of accommodating approximately 200 passengers.
