The Sedgwick County/Fleming wrestlers have taken a couple weeks off from competition to get ready for the Region 3 Regional Tournament to be held in Akron March 5 and 6.

On March 5, the 106-145 pound wrestlers will compete and then on March 6 the 152-285 pound wrestlers will compete. This year only the top two in each weight division will advance to the State Wrestling Tournament to be held in Pueblo at the Southwest Motors Events Center located on the Colorado State Fairgrounds on March 12. In previous years, the top four in each weight class have advanced to the State Tournament.

Day one of Regional wrestling is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. with the State qualifiers for 106-145 pound classes being determined. Day two of Regional wrestling is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the State qualifiers for 152-285 pound weight classes being determined.

Wrestlers competing at Regionals out of Fleming and Haxtun for the Sedgwick County/Fleming wrestling team are: Kaiden Schelling, Jack Bornhoft, Keegan Coleglaizer, Joel Muller and Hayden Burr.
