RICH GERK blows the whistle one last time in a game of tug of war during field day activities last week. Gerk plans to retire after 28 years with the Haxtun School District. Gerk, who taught in the classroom a well as physical education, has also coached numerous sports and served as the athletic director during his time in Haxtun.
