Account established for Everitt's medical expenses

What seemed like a normal, late-afternoon four-wheeler ride turned tragic for local resident John Everitt last Monday. Everitt, who was riding from his home southeast of Haxtun just up the road to the shop for dog food, rolled the ATV and was airlifted from the accident site to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

Everitt currently remains in the intensive care unit with his wife, Janice, by his side.

According to the couple’s daughter, Pam Schollett, Everitt has a traumatic brain injury in his temporal lobe. He also sustained four broken ribs and a bruised lung and since the accident has developed a blood clot.

Schollett and her brother, Matt, express their sincere thank you to the Haxtun community for the support shown for their both their parents over the past week. The Everitt’s two children are both on the Front Range near their parents for support during this difficult time.

“Matt and I feel incredibly blessed by the community,” she said in an update Sunday evening.

An account has been established at Points West Community Bank for the Everitt family, who has in numerous ways given to their community.

Donations may be made at PWCB, 128 South Colorado Avenue in Haxtun or mailed to P.O. Box 8, Haxtun, CO 80731. The account is listed under John and Janice Everitt’s name with a subtitle of medical expenses; the couple have total control of the account.
