A VEHICLE IN A field between county roads 9 and 11 south of Haxtun sparked several fires Thursday afternoon, July 29. Above, a water truck refills two fire trucks shortly after the first call to the area of the fires. Firemen from Haxtun and Wages initially responded to the call and crews from the Haxtun Volunteer Fire Department were called back twice more throughout the day to continue to extinguish flare ups.
