Connie Kay Nagel, 64, of LaSalle, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 2, 2021. Her daughters were by her side.

Connie, the youngest of three daughters born to Rex & Mary Ellen (Davis) Faules, graced the world with her birth on April 26, 1957, in Haxtun. The family relocated to Greeley when Connie was very young. She attended Greeley schools and was a student at Greeley Central High School when she met and married Ed Campbell in 1973. In September of that year, they welcomed a baby girl, Amy Michelle. After briefly residing in southern California where her husband was stationed in the Navy, Connie and Amy returned to Colorado. She was a young, single mom with a baby, but Connie was strong-willed and determined. With the love and support of her family, she worked very hard to make a good life for herself and her little girl.

In 1976, Connie married Lelan Larson, and the family moved to Pierce. In November 1978, Amy became a big sister when daughter, Angela Marie was born. In 1984, Connie accepted a part-time job at Aims Community College in Greeley. She earned her G.E.D. and the position evolved into a full-time career as a student support specialist that spanned over 30 years at the Greeley and Ft. Lupton campuses.

When the girls were young and until her eldest graduated high school, Connie was very active in the junior bowlers program at Bowlorado Lanes in Greeley. She enjoyed coaching the junior bowlers, creating memories and building friendships that have lasted a lifetime. In 1991, Connie moved to Greeley with her daughters, then eventually to Ault, so Amy and Angie could finish their schooling in district they grew up in.

In September 1994, Connie married Dennis Nagel. They made their home in Evans until the summer of 1997 when they moved to the countryside, east of Platteville where they spent the next 24 years. During that time, many happy memories were made. Connie felt such joy and pride in seeing her daughters marry, the birth of her grandchildren and even the birth of her first great-grandchild. Connie loved all animals. She especially enjoyed living in the in country, spending time with her donkeys, chickens, roosters, ducks, dogs, cats and several others. In the early summer of 2021, Connie and Dennis sold their home in the country and moved into the town of LaSalle.

Connie loved unconditionally. Her door was always open. Regardless of the situation, she would not turn away from someone in need. Known affectionately as, "Mom" or "Aunt Connie," she acquired many "kids" throughout her life. Never wanting anyone to ever feel hopeless or that they had nowhere to turn, she was a beacon of light and hope. The kindest, most understanding person, Connie truly cared for all who were lucky enough to be part of her life, without question or judgement. Her capacity for love and understanding created a very special life for her daughters. Once you were part of Connie's life, no matter the circumstance, she carried you in her heart. She was truly beautiful inside and out, an angel on this Earth. Her passing has left an immense emptiness in our world. But Connie has earned her wings and undoubtedly, she continues to look after and care for her loved ones from Heaven above.

Connie is survived by her husband Dennis; daughters, Amy and husband Steve Brehon of LaSalle and Angela and husband Benjamin Weathers of Yuma; grandchildren, Brittany & Shelby Brehon, Makenzie, Xavier, Alexander, and Dylaini Weathers, and Matthew Nagel; great-grandchildren, Bryson Brehon, and Baby Girl King; sisters, Regina Hansen of Utah, and Margaret Woolman of Nebraska; mother-in-law, Jo Larson, second husband Lee Larson, and a large, loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents Frank and Elsie (Dekker) Faules and Perry (Earl) and Kathryn (Ward) Davis; first husband Ed Campbell; in-laws, Ivola Nagel, Ken Larson, and Don and Sherry Campbell.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 in Lasalle.
