Darlene E. Gorbutt passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at the age of 83.

Darlene was born Aug. 22, 1938 in Sterling to Thomas Kay Acott and Verna Ellen (Wood) Acott. She graduated from Fleming High School. Darlene married Donald J. Gorbutt on Feb. 20, 1960 at the Fleming United Methodist Church.

Darlene was a longtime member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Matina Study Club. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and tending her flower gardens. After her husband Donald passed away in 2010, she met John Hradecky. The two became a couple and enjoyed many adventures together.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Ray Acott and wife Rita; daughter Debora Brown and husband Randy; significant other John Hradecky; grandsons Jack Smith and Adam Smith and wife Jennifer; step-grandson Kerry Brown; great-grandchildren Kolby and Katy Smith; extended family Becky and Allen Guetter, Mike and Kathy Hradecky and Scott and Hilda Hradecky and many Hradecky grandkids and great-grandkids.

Darelene is preceded in death by her parents,; grandparents; husband; and son Darrell Gorbutt.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 1 at Fleming United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodie Harless officiating. Darlene will be laid to rest at Fleming Cemetery.
