Immanuel Lutheran Church installs Reverend Tim Hahn on Oct. 3

TIM Hahn was installed as the new Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Haxtun on Sunday, Oct. 3. He is pictured with fellow visiting pastors. Reverend Tim Hahn was installed as the new Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Haxtun on Sunday, Oct. 3 in an afternoon ceremony. Hahn and his wife, Alyssa, join the church and Haxtun community and are eager to get to know not only the congregation, but the community as a whole.

Hahn was born on Aug. 14, 1976 in Hazel Crest, Ill. He became of child of God through the waters of Holy Baptism by his father, Reverend Kenneth S. Hahn, on Sept. 19, 1976 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hazel Crest. He was confirmed in the faith on April 8, 1990 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxnard, Calif.

After graduating from high school in 1994, he went to Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. While at Concordia, he was in the Pre-Seminary program and performed field work at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Laguna Beach, Calif. He was active in student government, was involved with handbells and a member of the Concert Choir. He graduated in 1998 with a degree in theology.


In the Fall of 1998, Hahn enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind. He performed field work at St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, Ind. From 2000-2001, he did his year of vicarage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Red Bluff, Calif. and Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Corning, Calif. He received his Master of Divinity from the Seminary in May 2002.

Hahn's first call was to Faith Lutheran Church in Flora, Ill. He was ordained there on June 30, 2002 and served until January 2011. On Jan. 30, 2011, he was installed as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Ill. On March 24, 2019, he was also installed as pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church in Onarga, Ill. While in Cissna Park and Onarga, he served as Circuit Visitor and was Pastoral Counselor for the LWML Central Illinois District.


In November 2019, Tim met his future bride, Alyssa, on eharmony.com. On Sept. 3, 2020, they got engaged and they were joined together as husband and wife on June 13, 2021. The couple are very much looking forward to what lies ahead of them as they begin life here in Haxtun.

Hahn is an avid sports fan. He was the announcer for the Cissna Park High School volleyball and basketball teams and is looking forward to following the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs. He also enjoys reading, walking, traveling and visiting with people.
