"Finnigsmier wanted to experiment with commercial fertilizer applied to corn at the last go-digging," says the magazine. "The boxes were taken off (a three-row) lister and mounted on go-dig units on a two-by-four base clamped to the frame. Drive is by V-belt from a pulley welded to one of the bell wheels. The Bulldogs went 7-3 this year, losing only one game on their home turf. Quite the turn-around from their previous football seasons when the Bulldogs tallied only one home game win in three years. Yes, this year's seniors have something to be proud of.
