Knode, Tempel & Schram earn basketball All-Conference honors

Three Haxtun student athletes received nods from Lower Platte League coaches at the conclusion of the 2021-22 basketball season. Senior Owen Knode and junior Maclin Tempel received All-Conference honors. Senior Taylor Schram earned All-Conference, Honorable Mention status.

According to stats listed on Maxpreps, Knode played in 24 games his senior season, averaging 15.8 points per game. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game in addition to five assists and 3.1 steals. In all, he scored 378 points this season. Throughout his four years as a Bulldog, he registered 776 points, 201 rebounds, 228 assists and 138 steals.

Owen Knode

In the 2021-22 season, Tempel averaged 13.2 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. He also netted 1.4 per steals and one blocked shot per game. Total, he put up 316 points this season while also bringing down 302 rebounds.

In her senior season, Schram played in 22 games, according to Maxpreps. She averaged 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She also averaged 3.7 assists and 3.3 steals in her final year as a Lady Bulldog. Schram scored 234 points and brought down 106 rebounds this season. In her four years in a Haxtun jersey, she put up 644 points, brought down 293 rebounds, nabbed 238 steals, registered 232 assists, had 185 deflections and 20 blocks.

The Haxtun boys' basketball team finished their season with an overall 17-8 record and a State Tournament finish after winning their respective Regional championship. The Lady Bulldogs finished fourth at Districts with an overall 9-13 record.
