Berneice Miller, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Miller of Paoli, passed away at a hospital in Holyoke on Monday, May 17, 1937. She had never completely recovered from a brain operation that she had undergone some time ago.

May 21, 1952

Miss Marjorie Mooney has been selected as a recipient of one of the first 12 Boettcher Foundation Scholarships given. Each scholarship will include full tuition and fees at the college of the student's choice and will also provide reasonable allowance for books and annual cash grant of $500.

The Haxtun United Methodist Church is to be dedicated June 8, according to an announcement made by Rev. George M. Burnsworth, pastor.

Cellular one of Northeast Colorado has brought cellular phone service to the Haxtun, Holyoke and Julesburg areas. It went into service on May 8, bringing with it 911 Emergency Service to the area. Keith Sharpe is area representative for the company.

Thirteen Fleming High School students walked down a multi-colored aisle on Sunday, May 20 to take their seats in front of a gym full of family and friends who gathered for commencement ceremonies.

Fleming's Class of 2012 includes: Haley Zink, Nathan Frantz, Amber Mekelburg, Jeffrey Allen, Alexander Haney, Casey Henry, Cheyanne Herbert, Alyx Daily, Garth Dreier, Andrew Lightsey, Morgan Wilkening, Amanda Bouchier and Kade Rigel.
