In a Veterans' Day showdown, the Fleming Wildcats defeated the Genoa-Hugo Pirates last Friday in 6-man quarterfinals. The second ranked Wildcats now advance to semifinal play this Saturday against the third ranked Granada Bobcats.

Fleming ran up the score early in the opening minutes of play last Friday and held a 36-14 lead at halftime. By the end of the third, they improved that lead by another six and led over the Pirates, 50-22. The addition of another couple touchdowns for the home team in the fourth quarter gave them a 66-30 victory over Genoa-Hugo and a spot in the semifinal contest slated for this week.

The Wildcats accumulated a total of 488 offensive yards in last Friday's game. Senior Blake Feather led in both receiving yards and rushing yard for the day. He earned 205 yards on the ground off 25 carries and scored one rushing touchdown. In the air, he caught two passes for his remaining 52 yards. One of those passes also resulted in six on the scoreboard.

Senior Kolten Houser followed Feather in rushing yardage with 119 total. He scored five touchdowns on the ground on 15 carries and caught one 19-yard pass for another TD.

Junior Wyatt Cochran followed Feather's receiving tally with two catches for 26 Wildcat yards.

Senior quarterback Braylen Feather completed six of 15 passes on the day. He threw for a total of 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Houser led the Wildcat defense with 10 tackles. He brought down nine solo and one assisted. Blake Feather followed with six solo and two assisted for a total of eight in the contest.

Houser's defensive efforts also resulted Fleming's lone interception. He returned that grab 22 yards for seven TDs in the game.

Blake Feather's two touchdowns combined with six successful points-after kicks gave him 24 points on the scoreboard. He went six for nine on his points-after attempts.

The semifinal match up is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. Fleming is set to host Granada that day. The two teams were set to meet in during the regular season in mid-September, but Granada forfeited due to injury.

The Granada Bobcats hold the third spot in 6-man football and advanced out of quarterfinals with a 79-50 win over sixth ranked Arickaree.

Top ranked Stratton and fifth ranked Otis remain on the top of the 6-man playoff bracket. They are also scheduled to play on Saturday.
