Two places of business in Haxtun were entered last Sunday night or early Monday morning and a small amount of cash and merchandise taken. The Yorke Café was entered and about $8 in change was taken from the cash register. At the Frock Shoppe conducted by Mrs. John Neil, merchandise valued at approximately $5 was stolen.
The town council tabled the applications for the issuance of licenses for the sale of liquor at Haxtun in 1938. Applications were filed by J.L. Chaney, operator of the Haxtun Liquor store and by John Kirchhofer, owner of the Corner Lunch.

Mr. and Mrs. Keanneth Hammond, formerly of Pueblo, recently purchased the Dairy King in Holyoke, which is located on Highway 6 in the west end of town. Mr. Hammon's parents resided in the Fairfield community a number of years ago.
A beautiful candlelight ceremony Sunday evening at 7 o'clock, Miss Dorothy Drought became the bride of S. Sgt. Billy E. Murphy. The wedding took place at the Lutheran Church with Rev A.C. Esch reading the double ring ceremony.
Fleming News - Mrs. Albert Miles was hostess to the VFW Auxiliary Nov. 12 at the hall. Present were Mesdames Bob Lippitt, Charles Harmon, C.S. Wardrip, Ernest Goff, Loren Davis, Lawrence Brekel and Albert Miles.

Proposed guidelines of the Health Service Agency would present a handicap for the Haxtun Community Hospital by eliminating obstetrics care in small hospitals, according to Clifford Cronin, hospital administrator. The guidelines proposed that hospitals must have 500 baby deliveries a year or be closed.

Don Lock and Harlan Stern will take their seat on the Board of County Commissioners in Phillips County following elections last week.
One more win. Just one more win and they're champions again. The Fleming Wildcats' opportunity to defend their State title comes this Saturday on their home field against the Eads Eagles in the 6-man State Championship.
