The Fleming Lady Wildcats returned to the basketball court for a winning opening weekend last week. The team went 2-0 in outings with Haxtun and Belleview Christian.
Fleming traveled on Friday night to neighboring Haxtun where they picked up a 46-33 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Senior Kally Kirkwood put up top numbers in all categories for the night. She led her team in points with 20, rebounds with seven and assists with four. Kirkwood also tallied four steals in the contest.
Senior Maddy Harms also hit double digits on the score board with 11. She followed Kirkwood in boards with four and in assists with three.
Senior Lexi Schaefer matched Harms' assisting efforts with three and added three rebounds.
Junior MadiKay Serrato led the Lady Wildcats in steals. She snatched the ball four times and put nine points on the scoreboard.
Fleming hosted Belleview Christian the following night for their home opener. The Lady Wildcats jumped to an early lead and took the win 63-16 at the final buzzer.
Three Lady Wildcats hit double digits in scoring. Serrato led with 16. Kirkwood and Schaefer followed with 15 and 14, respectively.
Junior Tori Champ went hard under the basket to lead the team with seven rebounds. Senior Laney Schliesser followed with six; Serrato and freshman Ciana Lousberg tacked on five apiece.
Kirkwood added top numbers in assists and steals with six in each column. Schaefer added six steals with four assists.
The Lady Wildcats are on the road this week for a single outing. They're set to play at Caliche on Friday night with games beginning at 4 p.m.
