Hospital news: Mrs. Adolph Klinzman of Yuma was dismissed Saturday. Her infant daughter will remain in the hospital for a few more days. The R. K. Scott baby was released last Wednesday. The hospital wishes to acknowledge the donations of eggs from Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Starkebaum, fruit from the Community H. D. Club and a large Christmas tree, all trimmed and lighted, from the Haxtun grade school and Mr. Gordon.
Miss Margaret Pond, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pond and Cecil Ahnstedt, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ahnstedt, were united in marriage Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. George M. Brunworth reading the double-ring ceremony.

Rumors are that Rex and Maxine Hadeen have gone south for the winter. However, they left their little fisherman behind (in the front yard) to go fishing in the snow. The area received four to six inches of snow throughout Sunday.
Fleming community choir presented the cantata, "There'll always be a Christmas," Sunday, Dec. 13. Choir members: Connie Grauberger, Carol Heaton, Ramona Kirkwood, Paula Koehler, Bonnie LaMont, Jeanne Matney, Laura Schaefer, Jean Whittington, Jerry Atkins, Betty Hulse, Henry Hulse, Duane Kirkwood, Mailyn Carwin, Dorothy Fetzer, Selma Heath, Joyce Schepler, Glennis Schmidt, Laurel Williams, Jennings Grauberger, Lowell Heath, Jim Kyle, Warren Lewallen and David Mormon. The production was directed by Warren Lewallen, narrated by Keith Nelson, and accompanied on piano by Carol Kinzie.

The newest member of the Board of Directors for the Haxtun Hospital District took his oath of office during a Dec. 3 meeting. Jeff Firme's appointment to the Board fills a vacancy left open by Paul Wernsman during election earlier this year, bringing the Board back to full membership.
Rebecca Phillips, a 2003 Haxtun graduate and current Columbia, Ky. resident, recently celebrated a great victory with the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team. On Saturday, Dec. 1, the team won the NA1A national championship in Orange Beach, Ala.
Two home games over the weekend and a combined 132 points later and Haxtun Bulldogs move to 4-0 on the season. Victories over the Buffs from Caliche on Thursday and the Cougars from Sedgwick County on Friday have earned the Bulldogs the top spot in the league, according to MaxPreps, before entering Christmas break.
