The traditional Christmas morning service will be held at five o'clock Saturday morning at the Fairfield Church. At this inspiring Christmas service, there will be music by the choir and a message from the pastor.

A recent issue of the Boulder Camera carried a story that announced the engagement of Wesley McCune of Haxtun and Miss Laura Lawrence of Wichita, Kan. Miss Lawrence has the distinction of being Miss Colorado U, one of her recent achievements on the campus.

Paoli News - Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Schneider and Erma Gene, were shoppers in Sterling Saturday.

Dec. 24, 1952

Hospital News - Mrs. Adolph Klinzman of Yuma was dismissed Saturday. Her infant daughter will remain in the hospital for a few more days. The R.K. Scott baby was released last Wednesday. Mrs. Walter Bauer and infant daughter were dismissed Sunday.

Mrs. Mary Haynes, 53, died Dec.17, 1952. Children include daughters Mrs. Ruby Roberts, Helen Einspahr, Mrs. Vivian Howland, Charlotte and Marilyn at home; sons, Delbert, Wilmer, Harold, Gerald of the United States Marines, Carroll, Ronald, Gary and Larry at home.

The Past President's Parley of the American Legion Auxiliary met Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. George H. Miller. Members present: Mesdames Theodore Beckman, Cecilia Exstrom, Robert Grauberger, William Jeffers, George James Jr., Gaylord McConnell, L.L. Mutchie, Harold O'Hare, C.L. Reynolds, L.E. Taylor, Tom Wisdom and guest Mrs. Glenn Brundige.

Dec. 22, 1977

Carl Ruch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold, Ruch of Haxtun, is Haxtun's FFA boy of the week. His supervised farming program is swine fattening and swine breeding. Ruch will receive his Chapter Farmer pin in December. His occupational objective is to have a herd of registered Yorkshire breeding swine.

The resignation of Mrs. Adele McConnell, home economics instructor at Haxtun High School was accepted and Mrs. Pamela Harms of Fleming was hired to replace her at the Haxtun Board of Education meeting on Dec. 15.

A pin by Mike Hainley and a decision win by Chad Fix were not enough as Haxtun's wrestling squad was defeated by Akron's JV squad Friday, 36-10, in Akron. Other wrestlers: David Kain, Brett Salvador, Kibby Brazelton, Kevin Constance, Norm Tanner and Brad Lightsey.

Kindergartners Dustin Bauder, Luke Evans, John Headey, Colette Kennedy, Cameron Kyte, Aaron Miles, Joey Monheiser, Tracy Oberle, Danny Powell, Katie Sweet, Ashley Uhrig, Luke Unrein, Sam Wolever and Andrew Wright made their singing debut in Fleming School's Christmas concert Thursday, Dec. 17.

Three-year-old Andrea Wilcox, stands holding her small flag in front of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Denver on Dec. 13. She is now officially an American citizen.

Dear Santa, My name is Zach. This year I have been quite good. What I would most like for Christmas this year is hot wheels and Angry Birds because I love hot wheels and they are fast. If your elves are not too busy, I would also like an airplane. I promise to leave you some of whatever Grant wants to leave you for Christmas Eve. Zach Statz

Dear Santa, I want a Spider Man toothbrush for Lukers. He is still sick but hopefully he will be all better by Christmas. I would like an alligator toy and a puppy that lights up! I am making you a book. I will send it to the North Pole. Merry Christmas Santa!
