Lady Wildcats break three records at League meet

The Fleming Wildcat track team competed in a busy week of track meets as the season nears completion. The Wildcats attended three track meets over the past week beginning on Wednesday with the North Central League Meet where the members of the girls' team broke three records.

Senior Kally Kirkwood competed in the 400-meter dash where she broke the League record with a time of 58.80. The record was previous held by Fleming alumnus Ashley Atkin.

Junior MadiKay Serrato broke Fleming School's record in the 3,200-meter run. She finished the event with a time of 14:07.87 beating the prior record by 32 seconds.

The four-by-200-meter relay team comprised of seniors Lexi Schaefer, Maddy Harms and Kirkwood and freshman Siena Donnelson broke last year's relay team's record with a time of 1:52.97. That record was held by Schaefer, Kirkwood, Zoey Vandenbark and Whitney Chintala.


According to Fleming Wildcat Head Track Coach Lisa Chintala, the NCL meet was held in conjunction with the LPAA and YWKC league meets. Athletes competed against athletes from other leagues at the event. Top-10 placers from Wednesday's NCL/LPAA/YWKC combined league meet are as follows:

Girls

100-meter dash: Kirkwood, fourth, 13.45.

200-meter dash: Kirkwood, fourth, 27.39.

400-meter dash: Kirkwood, first, 58.80; Donnelson, 10th, 1:07.48.

800-meter run: Serrato, sixth, 2:43. 67; Ciana Lousberg, seventh, 2:44.07.

1,600-meter run: Emoree Lousberg, seventh, 6:28.39.

3,200-meter run: Serrato, third, 14:07.87.

100-meter hurdles: Ciana Lousberg, ninth, 19.33.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Brooke Schaefer, Maddy Zink and Donnelson, eighth place, 56.57.


Four-by-200-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Harms and Kirkwood, fourth place, 1:52.79.

Four-by-400-meter relay: Team of Emoree Lousberg, Ashley Bornhoft, Zink and Ciana Lousberg, eighth, 5:01.20.

Four-by-800-meter relay: Team of Harms, Serrato, Bornhoft and Emoree Lousberg, fourth, 11:33.64.

Sprint medley relay: Team of Emoree Lousberg, Aitana Carillo, Zink and Brooke Schaefer, 10th, 2:19.72.

Long jump: Brooke Schaefer, tie for third, 15 feet, 1.5 inches; Ciana Lousberg, fifth, 15 feet.

Triple jump: Lexi Schaefer, first, 32 feet, eight inches.

The girls' team finished in second place out of 21 team competing.

Boys

100-meter dash: Nolan Japp, fifth, 12.27.

200-meter dash: Nolan Japp, tie for eighth, 24.26.

3,200-meter run: Beau Ashburn, ninth, 13:10.80; Jared Betley, 10th, 13:16.46.


Four-by-400-meter relay: Team of Matix Haney, David Betley, Wyatt Northrup and Kale Volkman, 10th, 4:22.06.

Four-by-800-meter relay: Team of Ashburn, David Betley, Pierson Japp and Jared Betley, 10th, 13:10.

Long jump: Nolan Japp, second, 20 feet, 4.5 inches.

Triple jump: Nolan Japp, third, 38 feet, 7.25 inches.

The boys' team finished in third place out of 21 teams competing.

The Wildcats competed in the HWAY Invitational at Yuma on Saturday. Top-10 placers from that meet are as follows:

Girls

3,200-meter run: Emoree Lousberg, second, 15:47.73.

300-meter hurdles: Ciana Lousberg, second, 52.97.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Harms and Kirkwood, third, 54.57.


Four-by-200-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Harms and Kirkwood, first, 1:52.66.

Four-by-400-meter relay: Team of Donnelson, Harms, Serrato and Kirkwood, first, 4:20.52.

Long jump: Brooke Schaefer, fifth, 14 feet, 5.5 inches; Ciana Lousberg, seventh, 13 feet, 7.5 inches.

Triple jump: Lexi Schaefer, second, 32 feet, 9.5 inches; Brooke Schaefer, fourth, 30 feet, 1.25 inches.

Pole vault: Serrato, sixth, seven feet, eight inches.

The girls' team finished in fifth place out of 16 teams.

Boys

100-meter dash: Nolan Japp, second, 11.87; Haney, 10th, 12.44.

400-meter dash: Haney, second, 55.50.

1,600-meter run: Jared Betley, fourth, 5:22.01; Ashburn, eighth, 5:41.63.


110-meter hurdles: Pierson Japp, seventh, 21.76.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Pierson Japp, Haney, Volkman and Nolan Japp, third, 48.07.

Long jump: Nolan Japp, sixth, 19 feet, 4.5 inches.

The boys' team finished in eighth place out of 16 teams.

On Monday, May 8, the team competed at the Holyoke Dragon Invitational. Top-10 placers from that meet are as follows:

Girls

200-meter dash: Kirkwood, first, 26.56.

400-meter dash: Donnelson, fourth, 1:07.72.

800-meter run: Ciana Lousberg, first, 2:36.84; Serrato, second, 2:38.64.

1,600-meter run: Emoree Lousberg, third, 6:37.52.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Fourth, 56.98.

Sprint medley relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Zink and Kirkwood, first, 1:55.56.


Long jump: Brooke Schaefer, second, 14 feet, seven inches; Donnelson, 14 feet, 6.5 inches.

Triple jump: Lexi Schaefer, first, 33 feet, 6.5 inches; Brooke Schaefer, fourth, 31 feet, four inches; Bornhoft, eighth, 29 feet, nine inches.

High jump: Bornhoft, tie for fourth, four feet, four inches.

Pole vault: Serrato, sixth, six feet, nine inches.

The girls' team finished in second place out of 11 teams.

Boys

100-meter dash: Nolan Japp, fourth, 11.89.

400-meter dash: Haney, eighth, 55.61.

800-meter run: Jared Betley, eighth, 2:38.13.
