Good progress is being made on construction of the high school gymnasium at Haxtun and bricklayers are expected to complete their work by the end of the week.

May 13, 1953

Mrs. Gus Beckman and her son Everett, former Haxtun residents, both passed away at their homes in Denver following heart attacks. The mother's death was evidently caused from the shock of learning that her son, 48, had suffered a heart attack.
