Wildcats make podium 11 times at State Track; 2 school records broken

The Fleming Wildcat track team competed in a busy and successful weekend at the State Track Meet at Jeff. Co. Stadium last Thursday, May 18-Saturday, May 20.
The girls' team broke two school records, took Championships in two events and finished in fourth place overall.
Kally Kirkwood took top honors in the 400-meter-dash after breaking the school record with a time of 58.60.
The girls' 800 sprint medley relay team of Lexi Schaefer, Siena Donnelson, Maddy Harms and Kirkwood broke the school record with a time of 1:53.35.
Fleming High School competed in 15 events at the meet and took the podium for 11 of those events after placing in the top nine in the State. Top-10 placers from the 1A State Track Meet are as follows:
Girls
200-meter dash: Kirkwood, fourth place, 26.79.
400-meter dash: Kirkwood, first, 58.60.
3,200-meter run: MadiKay Serrato, seventh, 13:38.64.
Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Brooke Schaefer, Maddy Zink and Donnelson, eighth, 54.90.
Four-by-200-meter relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Kirkwood and Harms, second, 1:51.07.
Four-by-400-meter relay: Team of Donnelson, Ciana Lousberg, Harms and Serrato, fifth, 4:26.03.
Four-by-800-meter relay: Team of Serrato, Harms, Ciana Lousberg and Emoree Lousberg, eighth, 11:22.07.
800 sprint medley relay: Team of Lexi Schaefer, Donnelson, Harms and Kirkwood, first, 1:53.35.
Triple jump: Lexi Schaefer, third, 33 feet, six inches.
Pole vault: Serrato, seventh, seven feet, six inches.
Boys
Long jump: Nolan Japp, 10th, 18 feet, 8.75 inches.
Triple jump: Japp, second, 42 feet, two inches.
