Lillian Lindgren

Lillian Irene Lindgren passed away June 16, 2023 at the age of 96 at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke. 

Lillian was born on Sept. 6, 1926, to Walter and Esther (Brase) Sagehorn in Amherst. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke. 

Lillian attended grade school in Holyoke and graduated from Phillips County High School in 1944.  After graduating she attended nursing training at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Denver and St. Mary's in Grand Junction.

In 1947, she was united in marriage to Dewey Lindgren of Holyoke. To this union three children were born; Barry, Steven and Alan (died Nov. 1974). She loved to travel and visited every state of the United States and 30 countries of the world.  Lillian continued in the medical field as an RN at East Phillips County Hospital and Melissa Memorial Hospital. She also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society as well as Mary and Martha Circle. She was also a charter member of the Paragon Club and belonged to Friends of the Library and the VFW Auxiliary.


Survivors include sons, Barry, Boulder, and Steve, Holyoke; grandchildren Elizabeth Holman and husband Carolus, Dallas, Texas, and Warren Lindgren and wife Mende, Erie; and great-grandchildren Isabelle Holman, Holden Lindgren and Hayden Lindgren.

Lillian was a loving and tireless wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

  Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 74 years, Dewey; son Alan; sisters Shirley Travis and Darlene Hagemann.

Viewing was held Thursday, June 22 at the Baucke Funeral Home.

   Funeral services were held Friday, June 23 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.  Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.


Memorials would be welcomed and directed to the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
