Dennis Grauberger

Dennis "Denny" Duane Grauberger passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in Sterling at the age of 74.

Denny was born on Oct. 9, 1948 in Sterling to Duane and Doris (Saylor) Grauberger. He attended elementary at Harding School, graduated high school from Fleming in 1966 and some college at Northeastern Junior College. He was a wheat harvester, worked as a Mechanic in Holyoke, Otis and Sterling, worked at the Sugar beet factory in Sterling, at Fleming schools in Fleming, the HBF Feed lot in Haxtun, CHS Coop in Fleming, CDOT in Sterling and the CHS Coop in Haxtun.

On April 24, 1976 he married Linda Moon in Sterling and they were married for 47 years. They moved to the Grauberger farm in 1987 so Denny could farm after his dad passed away and they lived on the farm until 2000. Denny was All-State for football in High School and enjoyed cars and mechanicing, and motorcycles. He also enjoyed watching TV, loved watching the Denver Broncos and watched every Super Bowl. He was loved by all who knew him and his laughter and joking was contagious.


Denny is survived by his wife Linda, Fleming; children Angie and husband Joel Norell, Sterling, Mark and wife Sara Grauberger, Haxtun, and Brian Grauberger, Fleming; siblings Diane and husband Mike Harrington, Ft. Collins, Doug and wife Cindy Grauberger, Mitchell, Neb., and Debbie Miller, Aurora; grandchildren Elizabeth and husband Jesus Rivera, Sterling, Alexander Norell, Sterling, and Max and Mason Grauberger, both of Haxtun; great-grandchildren Beau Beltran and Sophia Rivera, both of Sterling; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents Duane and Doris; brother Donald; granddaughter Shantel Norell; brothers-in-law Steve Miller, Richard Moon Jr. and Kenneth Moon; father-in-law Richard Moon and mother-in-law Betty (Whited) Moon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennis Grauberger Memorial Fund care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the LeRoy United Methodist Church with Pastor Rich Moon officiating.
