Jean E. Lyne passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, in Haxtun at the age of 89. Per her request, no services will be held.

Jean was born April 17, 1934, in Concordia, Kan. to E. Howard and Velma (Henderson) Larson. She graduated from Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, Kan. in May 1953. She worked most of her career as a secretary/bookkeeper for El Saline School District and Lindsborg School District in Kansas.

Jean married Dennis Lyne on June 4, 1953. Jean successfully competed in 4-H in sewing and home making. She later became a leader in her local 4-H club for sewing. She enjoyed sewin...
