The Haxtun Public Library distributed Certificates of Friendship to several of the children participating in Summer Reading. Based from the book "The Friendship Fairy" written by Amanda Provins, the friendship fairy received her fairy wings for being a good friend to many fairies at her school. The children then had the opportunity to let the librarian know their acts of kindness to receive their certificate.

Children who received certificates at the Library include Cadence Kilpatrick, Tayla McConnell, Oakley McConnell and Tyndle McConnell, all pictured above with Deb Dickerson who volunteered to assist with the Summer Reading Program this summer. Others who received their certificates but are not pictured are Jaxy Fix and Kortlyn Carpenter.

There were a variety of good deeds completed to receive their Certificate of Friendship, including helping mom with chores, playing nice with siblings and friends, giving a needed hug, helping plant the garden, picking flowers for elderly family members and reading books to their siblings.
