Miss Nina Tenney, formerly of Haxtun, and Frank Rueter of Wauneta, Neb., were married last Sunday afternoon at Lincoln, Neb. The ceremony was performed by a Methodist minister of that place.

Sept. 9, 1953

Hospital News - Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hudson are the proud parents of a baby daughter, Sandra Kaye, born on Sept. 3, 1953. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Steiner are the parents of a baby girl born Sept. 4, 1953. S he has been named Terrill Annette and weighed a little over four pounds. The baby will be kept in the hospital for several weeks.

Charles Roush, a former Haxtun boy, and Miss Patricia Grauberger of Longmont, were united in marriage, Aug. 30 at the Frank Green home northeast of Sterling. Rev. I.W. Gray, Pastor of the Sterling Evangelical United Brethren Church, read the double-ring rites.

Clarkville News - Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Myers had a fish fry Sunday. Present were Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Ahnstedt and Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs., Walter Ahnstedt, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Reyher and family.

Sept. 7, 1978

Irma Johnson, new manager of the Haxtun Credit Union, is shown here with past manager Melvin Miles. The credit union has moved to new quarters at 229 S. Colorado Ave.

Glenn Jones, long-time Haxtun Town Clerk submitted his resignation to the Haxtun Town Board of Trustees at their regular meeting Tuesday night.

Betty Sullivan, pictured, agent for the Sullivan Insurance Agency, moved into her new office at 229 S. Colorado Ave. in Haxtun and opened the business Tuesday morning.

New teachers at Fleming Schools began duties last week: James Overlease, Kim Weinreich, Charles Regnar and Scott Court.

Sept. 8, 1993

A new president now sits in the front office at Haxtun Community Bank. Former President Lloyd Nelson gives assistance to Gordon Smith, who took over as president on Wednesday. Nelson will remain on a part-time basis for six to eight weeks to help with the transition.

Gordon Kinchen remains in critical condition at Greeley Medical Center on Tuesday. The son of Randi Hart and stepson of Ron Hart sustained head injuries in a one-vehicle accident near Sterling over the weekend.

Hello, world: Rick and Colleen Lockwood of Haxtun announced the adoption of a baby girl, Karci Renae, born Aug. 28, 1993, and adopted on Sept. 2.

The new water feature is in and open to the public at the Phillips County Fairgrounds, but with its opening comes new setbacks. According to the Phillips County commissioners, vandals have left their mark on the water feature. In the few short weeks it's been in place.

Two new Fleming preschool teachers greeted students on the first day of school. Julie Brown and Lynette Harms will head the preschool classroom this year; Harms has a part-time teacher and Brown as a full-time preschool Director.
