MATIX HANEY, Fleming Homecoming King, gets caught up by the Haxtun Bulldog defense. Fleming hosted Haxtun for 6-man action in conjunction with the annual Fall Festival.

The Fleming Wildcats hosted the neighboring Haxtun Bulldogs for this year's Homecoming contest last Saturday. The 6-man game was held in conjunction with Fleming's annual Fall Festival and drew a large crowd.

Haxtun went up 35-0 in the opening quarter and expanded that lead to 47-0 before the close of the half. Scoring for the Bulldogs slowed in the second half, but the visiting team managed to hold the Wildcat offense out of the end zone and the game ended with a Bulldog shutout, 59-0.

Individual stats for the contest were not reported.

The Wildcats now stand at 1-4 on the season with a 1-0 league record following a week one win over North Park.

The Wildcats are set to take on top-ranked Peetz on Thursday, Sept. 28. Peetz is undefeated on the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

WYATT COCHRAN, Fleming #42, looks to maneuver around the Haxtun Bulldog defense in Saturday's Homecoming contest. The Bulldogs handed the Wildcats a 6-man shut out, 59-0.
