Annual scholarship run draws 100 participants

RUNNER COLIN Cone took first place in the J. Jeffryes 5K Saturday morning with a time of 19.32.
Exactly 100 participants registered for the J. Jeffryes 5K and one mile fun run on Saturday morning, Sept. 30. The event kicked off the 102nd annual Haxtun Corn Festival. Entry fees from the run/walk are used for scholarships for local high school seniors.
Results from the 5K and mile run are as follows:
5K
Age 12 and under: Clara Keller, 32.59.52; Pete Salyards, 24.03.85.
Ages 13-18: Leah Edwards, 29:33.15; Colin Cone, 19.32.
Ages 19-34: Taylor Hagemeyer, 27.27.02; Romerio Diaz, 21.12.04.
Ages 35-49: Lee Salyards, 27.47.16; Braden Ham, 21.00.30.
50+: Jonetta Anderson, 41.18.75...
