Lady Wildcats sweep Lady Bulldogs; sit in league's number 3 spot

The Fleming Lady Wildcats competed in just a single match over the past week when they hosted the Peetz Lady Bulldogs for a Thursday night match up.

Fleming entered the league contest at 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the North Central League. Peetz entered at 1-9 and 0-6, respectively.

The Lady Wildcats dominated from the opening set taking a 25-12 win. They closed the match with commanding wins in sets two and three, 25-9 and 25-7, for a sweep.

Sophomore Ciana Lousberg and freshman Hayley Chamberlain split time in the setter's position. Lousberg put up 17 assists in the match; Chamberlain added seven.

Sophomore Ashley Bornhoft led at the net in kills with 10. Senior MadiKay Serrato followed with six.

Serrato led the team in blocks at the net with two solo. Bornhoft followed with one solo block.

Sophomore Emoree Lousberg led the team's defensive efforts from the back row with eight digs. Serrato and Chamberlain followed with four apiece.


Ciana Lousberg led Fleming's serve game with eight aces for the night. She served 100 percent on 24 attempts. Freshman Hadley Stull added three aces off 18 serves.

The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to play on Friday night at Weldona against the Weldon Valley Lady Warriors. Weldon Valley enters the league match at 8-6 overall. Matches that night are set to start at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, the team is set to travel to Simla to take on the Lady Cubs. Simla currently holds a 13-3 overall record. Saturday's action is set to begin at 3 p.m.
