Alma "Billie" Wright went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023 at the age of 79.

Billie was born in Dillon, S.C. on Sept. 28, 1944 to Elise Hubbard. After high school she worked as a manager at South of The Border in South Carolina. In 1981 she moved to Greeley where she worked in housekeeping at North Colorado Medical Center and later managed the Hospitality House at North Colorado Medical Center.

On Sept. 25, 2000 she married Larry Wright in Tallahassee, Fla. Together, Larry and Billie loved to travel, visit flea markets and craft shows and spend time with their family. They also loved Florida State University football and baseball and attended many games together. Billie loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Billie is survived by her husband Larry, Tallahassee; their children Roxanne and husband Trever Fix, Haxtun, Mike and Dawn Cook, Sandy and Dean Waters and Danny Wright, all of Tallahassee, and Tonie Duke, Evansville, Ind .; grandchildren Sheena Fix, Yuma, Cole and wife Candie Fix, Haxtun, Cody and wife Paulina Fix, Sterling, Shawn Cook, Samantha and husband Josh Schemp and Chris Cook, all of Greeley, Ashli Cook, Sterling, Brittany Waters and Lonnie Waters, both of Tallahassee, and Bradley Maynard, Brandy Hammers and Bobby Duke, all of Evansville; great-grandchildren Jaxy Fix, Haylie and Kortlyn Carpenter, Alayna and Amias Pacheco, Cameron Maynard, Austin Duke and Anthony and Abby Hammers; siblings Wanda and Mitchell Merritt, Latta, S.C., and James and Olga Jacobs, Largo, Fla.


She is proceeded in death by her mother Elise Hubbard; sister Jenny Merritt; brothers Dale Jacobs, Timothy Tulk and Joseph Tulk; special family who raised her Mildred and Donald Tulk; and granddaughter Madison Cook.


Visitation will be at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5-7 p.m. followed by graveside services at the Haxtun Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m.
