As a top-10 year-end money earner in the tie-down calf roping permit standings within the Professional Cowboys of America Association, Cash Fuesz participated in the Permit Finals held in Waco, Texas in October. Finishing this event in the top five allowed him a birth into the Permit Challenge of the Year held at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 7.

Fuesz competed in two rounds winning second in both rounds with 10.4 seconds on both runs and winning the average. He used a 12-year-old quarter horse mare belonging to Brian Carter of Seminole, Okla.

In the Professional Rodeo Cowboys of America Association members first join as permit holders. Those who win $1,000 are eligible to buy their PRCA card and become full members. However, those in college may choose to stay on their permit. Fuesz will remain on his permit into the 2024 season. In 2023 the PRCA had approximately 1,700 permit holders.

Fuesz is the son of Cory and Heather Fuesz, Eureka, Kan., and grandson of Irlene Huntington, Eureka, and Gary and Vicki Fuesz, Haxtun.
