Harry Heaston

Harry Leroy Heaston passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 at the age of 80.

Harry was born to Fred and Ruby (Riley) Heaston on Aug. 9, 1943 in Sterling. Harry attended Haxtun Elementary and Haxtun High School and then attended Northeastern Junior Colelge for two years. Harry was manager for Ceres Fertilizer Plant in Crook. Then he and Doug Kinzie started Kinton Agri in Haxtun. After that he owned Round up Music Company. Harry married the love of his life Sandra Kay Marty on Sep. 3, 1971. They had just celebrated their 52nd anniversary.

Harry was a member of the Elks #1336 where he served as a Trustee and was a member of the Sterling and Haxtun Jaycees. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating, country dancing, cruising, golf and telling jokes.

Harry is survived by his wife Sandi; daughters Cathy and husband Chuck Briggs, Cris Bennett and Susie and husband Monte Hamann; son Eddie and wife Missy Bennett; brother Rod and wife Cindy Heaston; sister Marilyn Michael; several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Harry is preceded in death by his father Fred Heaston; mother Ruby Heaston; sister Patricia Mankey; brother-in-law Francis Mankey; mother-in-law Dalice Schmitt; father-in-law John Schmitt; brother-in-law Roger Marty; and special family Stan and Lois Bennett.

Memorial donations may be made in Harry's name to the Sterling Elks Lodge #1336 in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
