A successful rabbit hunt was held in the area north of Haxtun Tuesday, with an estimated 300 to 350 hunters taking part. In the final checkup, 990 jackrabbits were turned in by hunters.

A head-on auto collision in Arizona Sunday afternoon caused serious injury to Delbert Hire, former Haxtun young man now living in Denver. Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Hire received word that their son was hospitalized at Flagstaff, Ariz. His wife is ill in a Denver hospital following a major operation last week and was not told of her husband's condition.
