HAXTUN JUNIOR Tate Michael makes a move towards the basket in a varsity match up with Sedgwick County.

The Haxtun Bulldogs picked up a four point win on the road in Briggsdale Tuesday night. The win breaks an eight game losing streak for the Bulldogs as the team heads into the final four games of the regular season.

Haxtun came out firing at Briggsdale this week, taking a 57-53 much needed win. Senior Keegan Colglazier and sophomores Chase Goddard and Colin Cone all put double-digits on the scoreboard. Colglazier led his team with 20 points followed by Goddard with 19 and Cone with 10. Senior Mason Bornhoft added four points and freshman Madden Larsen put up two.

Last Friday, the Bulldogs hosted the Dragons from Holyoke in the annual ag night match-up between the two Phillips County teams. The Dragons took a second win over the Bulldogs this season, 68-38.

Goddard racked up double-digits in the scoring column against the Dragons, too. He scored 12 points at home on Friday night. Larsen added nine points followed by Colglazier with seven, Cone with six and senior Ryland Wolff added four.

With just two weeks left of the regular season, the Bulldogs are set to face Caliche and Wray this weekend and Akron and Merino the following week. This week Haxtun is scheduled to travel to Caliche on Friday and Wray on Saturday.

The Bulldogs met up with the Buffs from Caliche in early December; that contest went to the Buffs 45-41.

Saturday's contest with the Eagles will be the first meeting between the two teams this season.
