Four games remain on Haxtun Lady Bulldogs' regular BB season schedule

Just four games remain on the regular season schedule for the Haxtun Lady Bulldogs. Haxtun is set to face off with Caliche, Wray, Akron and Merino over the next few weeks to wrap up regular season play. Last week, the Lady Bulldogs took on Holyoke at home and Briggsdale on the road.

The Lady Bulldogs took on the Lady Dragons for the third time this year in a home contest on Friday night. Haxtun put eight points on the board in the first and five in the second to put the Lady Bulldogs down by just six at the half. The Lady Bulldogs came out firing after half time, outscoring Holyoke by one in the third and five in the fourth to send the game into extra quarters. With additional time on the clock, the Lady Dragons put three more on the board than the home team, giving Holyoke the 48-45 win.

Senior Heily Avery connected with three shots from behind the three-point line, one two-point bucket and a free throw for the team high of 12 points. Junior Emily Anderson added 11 points, junior Jayleigh Bullard scored eight and senior Cassidy Goddard put up six.

Bullard pulled down 13 rebounds against Holyoke. She brought down seven on offense and six on defense to lead her team under the basket. Junior Kelsie Hadeen tallied eight rebound and Avery registered six.

Hadeen and Goddard each added three assists to their stats. Anderson tallied four steals, Avery racked up three and Emma Lemesany registered two.

Tuesday evening put the Lady Bulldogs on the road in a match up with the Lady Falcons from Briggsdale.

Despite a stellar first quarter showing, Haxtun fell 58-33. Stats for the Briggsdale game were not yet available as of Wednesday morning.

This week Haxtun will hit the road again, this time to Caliche on Friday and Wray on Saturday. The Lady Buffs from Caliche are currently 8-5 overall and 1-4 in league play. When the two teams met in early December, Caliche nabbed a six point win over the Lady Bulldogs.

MaxPreps lists the Lady Eagles from Wray at 7-7 on the season and 3-2 in Lower Platte league standings.
