Lady Bulldogs set to travel to Merino for match up with Lady Rams on Friday

Regular season play wraps up this week as the Lady Bulldogs head to Merino to take on the Rams in a Lower Platte League match up Friday night. Once all final regular season games are played this weekend, the Colorado High School Activities Association will release post-season brackets.

Haxtun hosted Akron on Friday night for the annual parents' night celebration in the final regular home contest of the season. The Lady Bulldogs held a 13-9 advantage after the first quarter and found themselves down by just six at the half. Akron put up 17 points to Haxtun's 10 in the third. Heading into the final quarter, the Lady Rams offensive pressure amped up, scoring 12 points to take a 53-31 win over the Lady Bulldogs.

Junior Emily Anderson connected with three shots from outside the arch for the team high of nine on Friday. Seniors Kirsta Dishman and Cassidy Goddard each added six. Sophomore Lilly Lemesany and junior Jayleigh Bullard each scored three. Junior Kelsie Hadeen added two followed by freshman Emma Lemesany and sophomore Reagan Jones, each with one point.


Goddard led under the basket with seven rebounds. She brought down three on offense and four on defense. Bullard grabbed five rebounds, Dishman totaled four and Lilly Lemesany and Anderson each registered two.

Hadeen led the team in assists with three. Anderson registered six steals.

Friday night's action will pit the Lady Bulldogs against the 18-0 Merino Lady Rams. Games are slated to begin at 4 p.m.
