Six arrested following Friday morning pursuit

Six individuals were arrested southwest of Fleming Friday following a pursuit that began in Washington County early that morning. According to information from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, two of the six that were arrested included juveniles wanted on active warrants out of Wyoming.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s information, deputies were advised of an active theft from northern Washington County on Friday, Feb. 16 at about 5 a.m. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle involved in the theft which included a vehicle on a trailer The suspects were spotted near County Road 71 west of Fleming.

After observing the vehicle, a pursuit began and later the suspects fled to the 11,000 block of County Road 71 where they drove through a ditch. While the deputies were not able to follow through the ditch, they did locate the vehicle again and observe the suspects leave on foot. At that time, it was believed there were four total suspects.

Once a perimeter was established, deputies observed an individual crawling through a field. That individual was one of two juveniles wanted on active warrants from Wyoming.

“Due to the nature of the warrants and the suspected criminal activity known to exist on this property, it was decided to contact the Northeastern Regional SWAT Team,” information from the Sheriff’s office said. “Subsequently, the Northeastern Regional SWAT Team was activated. Due to the size of the property, assistance was also provided by Weld County SWAT.”

While holding the perimeter awaiting SWAT, a second juvenile exited the property. That juvenile also had an active warrant out of Wyoming. A female, identified as Alecia Gillette, age 49, also exited the property. Gillette was found to have an active felon warrant for her arrest.

“A short time later, both SWAT teams deployed and located the other two suspects who had eluded deputies earlier,” the Sheriff said.

Those two were identified as Jessica Makuski, age 46, and Joshua Duchesne, age 40. Both Makuski and Duchesne had active felony warrants for their arrest and are facing numerous charges in Washington and Logan counties from the initial incident.

Additionally, Duane Dobbins, age 49, was also arrested on numerous charges relating to the incident.

“The investigation is still ongoing at this point and all charges are still being determined,” information from the Sheriff’s Office said. “The names of the juveniles will not be released. The juveniles are not facing charges from this agency and it is unknown if they will face charges in Washington County for their involvement in the theft. However, they are currently being held in a juvenile detention center on the warrants from Wyoming.”
